My research is directed towards expanding our understanding of the mechanisms by which low oxygen (hypoxia) regulates events in epithelial cells. Specifically, I am interested in the regulation of global gene expression in response to hypoxia and the modification of transcriptional regulators which underlies the induction of such events. The results of this work pertains to the development of new therapeutic approaches to cancer and chronic inflammatory disease.
